Fruit Salad

This fresh fruit salad is super simple and topped with instant vanilla pudding powder mix and pineapple juice to make the most delicious, sweet flavored salad. The recipe uses pineapple, apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, and maraschino cherries but can be easily modified to include your favorite fruit.

I absolutely love this recipe! It is almost like a sweet dessert but way healthier. This fruit salad perfectly complements many main dishes. Try it with this Pot Roast or Shepherd’s Pie or even as a side with one of these breakfast dishes: Chocolate Chip Protein Muffins or Avocado Toast.

This amazing side dish has become a family staple to include every year for our Christmas morning brunch, and my kids really enjoy it. You will absolutely love this delicious fruit salad!

How to Make Fruit Salad

In a large mixing bowl, add apples, oranges, pineapple, grapes, and cherries. Also keep any remaining juice from the pineapple and pour over the fruit.

Next, pour the instant vanilla pudding powder mix and the pineapple juice over the fruit. Stir to combine. There may still be visible chunks of the powder, but these will dissolve better after refrigeration and being mixed again.

Refrigerate for at least an hour and stir again until well mixed. If needed add additional pineapple juice. Orange juice also works as a good substitute in place of pineapple juice if you are out. The fruit juices will help keep the fresh fruit from browning.

Finally, mix in the sliced bananas just before serving.
